(Boldenone Undecylenate)

Equipoise is the brand name of the anabolic steroid boldenone undecylenate, known as “EQ” for short in the fitness community, and it is known as a very long-acting and consistent agent with great benefits that are underestimated in the steroid world. Interestingly, many Internet Gurus will tell you that Equipoise is not for humans and is only a veterinary drug. However, they would be very mistaken if they said that, and in this article we will find out why.

History

Few people know this, but equipoise’s original trade name was actually Parenabol. Ciba introduced it to the human drug market in the 1950s, as this steroid was used in medicine until the late 70s. Therefore, it was a human quality compound for over 20 years.

However, since then it has only existed as a veterinary drug and is also sold by Underground Labs (UG Labs). In fact, it is famous for its use in horse racing as there were trainers who were punished for using it with their horses. hence the popular association of this steroid with horses. Additionally, there have been many well-known incidents in human sports where it has been used for baseball (MLB), mixed martial arts (UFC), Australian football and Major League Soccer. For example, Jenrry Mejia was banned for life from Major League Baseball for failing a steroid test in which he used Equipoise. This is a curious fact since he was the first to receive a lifetime ban for such an act.

Anabolic and androgenic ratio

On paper, Equipoise is very weak and only has a 100 anabolic steroid rating (the same as testosterone) and only a 50 androgen rating (half of testosterone). As a result, one would ask, why not just use testosterone instead? Well, as it has been said many times before, just looking at these numbers can be a mistake as Equipoise offers benefits not seen with other steroids.

Delivery forms

Although it is best known as an injectable steroid, oral equipoise was created in the past but did not catch on because it was not very effective. In addition, there is an acetate version of boldenone, but it has not gained popularity due to the severe pain associated with the injections. By far the most popular boldenone bread is the one with the very long-acting undecylenate ester, with which a minimal amount of injections can be carried out.

How it works

For many years, Equipoise has been compared by InternetGurus to other steroids such as Deca Durabolin and Dianabol. However, they have probably never tried to make such an observation. Despite the fact that it acts like these anabolic steroids, it is not similar to them, and calling these compounds the same is like comparing apples to oranges.

First of all, Equipoise does not aromatize like Dianabol and does not work as quickly. So if you want to drink 10 pounds of water in a few weeks, the EQ won’t help you. Next, it has no progestogen properties at all, so it differs from DecaDurabolin in that way too. However, one could argue that they have similar mild and slow-acting properties.

However, when it comes to comparisons it is much easier. All you have to do is look at the stats on paper and you’ll see that the closest thing to EQ is pure testosterone. The only exception is an additional double bond at carbon positions 1 and 2, which is why Equipoise is less androgenic and estrogenic than testosterone. In fact, users will not notice any serious estrogen-type side effects on Equipoise because it aromatizes very slowly (theoretically, it converts to estrogen at half the rate of testosterone), making water retention and gynecomastia much less likely to occur.

Like all anabolic steroids, Equipoise increases nitrogen retention in muscles, improves protein synthesis, increases IGF1 (insulin such as growth factor 1) and inhibits muscle wasting hormones. Additionally, Equipoise has gained a reputation for increasing red blood cell (RBC) counts, but other anabolic steroids do the same, and I have not seen any blood tests showing that using Equipoise in moderate doses increases RBCs as much as using testosterone, for example. Nevertheless, the forum chatter claims that it triggers RBC more than other steroids, so it’s hard to argue with BroScience. The main reason for such a reputation is most likely due to the fact that users use it for a longer period of time, giving red blood cells more time to build up in higher quantities. Therefore, it would actually be a good idea to donate blood to alleviate this problem.

Dosages

As Equipoise is a mild steroid, it is overused due to lack of understanding of the compound with dosages. Also, it is a slow-acting steroid, so users tend to pre-load at high dosages or be impatient and increase the dosage. Fortunately, a high dosage of EQ does not cause as many problems as other steroids at the same dosage. All in all, new users should start at 400,500 milligrams (mg) per week, while experienced users and those who abuse steroids should take 800 mg per week or even more. In fact, I have seen bodybuilders using dosages between 1000 and 1500 mg per week, which is way too much.

Half-life

The half-life of the undecylenate ester is a very long 15 days. This means that it will take many weeks after stopping EQ to completely clear your system. The good news is that thanks to the long half-life of this ester, you can easily inject Equipoise every 510 days.

Detection times

It is surprising why countless athletes wanted to use Equipoise, as the undecylenated version of boldenone has a very intense detection time of 5 months. In some cases I have seen detection for up to 8 months.

Side effects

As mentioned above, Equipoise is very mild. The secret is that not only does it aromatize half the testosterone, it does so much more slowly. Therefore, the estrogenic side effects with EQ are very low. As a result, an aromatase inhibitor may not be necessary here at high dosages and its use depends mainly on the compounds stacked with Equipoise.

As with all anabolic steroids, there is a good chance that cholesterol levels will become imbalanced during use, as well as other side effects that affect the heart (e.g. increased blood pressure or increased cardiac strain).

Some users complain about anxiety with Equipoise. However, this seems to be more of a forum for science than actual experiences. Maybe some gurus with pre-existing anxiety issues have used it and then told others that EQ causes anxiety. Whatever it is, in some cases all steroids can make anxiety worse, but only if you already have such problems.

Another popular trend on forums is that Equipoise increases appetite. Again, many anabolic steroids increase appetite, so I’m not sure why Equipoise is so special in this regard. Most likely this happens because it is so mild on the body and stomach that it can make you feel hungry because you don’t have a feeling of lethargy or blah. Personally, I have never noticed a problem with unusual appetite when using equipoise, but just over half of users will notice a significant increase in appetite.

Finally, equipoise is suppressive (this is supported by many studies), so it is a smart idea to perform post-cure therapy (PCT) after the cure to ensure proper recovery of HPTA functions.

User results

If you put all the features of EQ together, you will find that the main advantage of this steroid is that it is a mild compound with few side effects. Therefore, it does not cause water retention while at the same time giving you a fairly normal steroid experience. This is why it is one of the few steroids I recommend for endurance athletes, as it increases RBC and recovery without water retention or terrible pumps slowing down your time.

In addition, those looking for strength and size without many side effects will also benefit from Equipoise. It’s a good choice for those who simply want to maintain their mass or stay fit, rather than someone who wants to hit PRs in their strength or weight in a short period of time.

Stacking

Since Equipoise is so mild, it should probably be stacked with something more androgenic (like Trenbolone, Testosterone, or Dianabol) to give it a kick. Also, due to the slow action of this steroid, it is recommended to use something fast to make things work faster.

The key to getting the most out of Equipoise is to run it for at least 10 or 12 weeks, with many people going for 14 to 16 weeks. If you do this, you need to think about doing a very long PCT of 8 weeks or more, followed by an 8 week bridge.

Bicycles

This is an example of a 16-week Equipoise course:

Week 16

  • Dianabol 50mgs / ED
  • Equipoise 400mgs / week
  • Testosterone Enanthate 400mgs / week
  • Aromasin 10 mg / ED
  • Cardarine 20 mg / ED
  • N2Guard 7caps / ED

Week 716

  • Equipoise 600mgs / week
  • Testosterone Enanthate 400mgs / week
  • Aromasin 10 mg / ED
  • Cardarine 20 mg / ED
  • Ostabolic 25mgs / ED
  • N2Guard 7caps / ED

Cost and ease of access

Equipoise is inexpensive and very easy to purchase through the underground market. In some countries, such as Mexico, athletes also gain access through veterinary markets. A hypothetical 10-week course of 400 mg per week would cost an average of just $120,200 from an online source.

Female use

Due to its low androgenicity, Equipoise can be used in women with a starting dose of 2550 mg per week. However, keep in mind that there are better options for women with less androgenic properties, such as Turinabol or Turinabol Anavar. I would not suggest injections to women as oral intake is much easier to control.
