It is not common to compare boldenone with testosterone. However, a far more common comparison is between boldenone and nandrolone. Boldenone actually doesn’t work as much as nandrolone. A nandrolone is actually a progestogen and a non-19 substance steroid, whereas boldenone is more closely related to testosterone (since it just has a different double bond bond). Boldenone is by far a better drug than Nandrolone, both for increasing strength and vascularity. Unfortunately, the myth that Equipoise’s behavior is similar to Deca’s has persisted for many years.

Boldenone’s 1-2 double bond is responsible for many of its properties. First, it does not aromatize (convert to estrogen) as easily as testosterone. The best estimate is that this occurs at about half the rate of testosterone. Athletes almost never report estrogenic side effects from boldenone, even when the dose is up to 1000 mg per week. Side effects caused by estrogen include oily skin, acne and gynecomastia, and as mentioned, these do not usually occur with boldenone. Virilization (development of male sexual characteristics in women) is almost never observed with this compound when female athletes use appropriate doses. This is one of the few injectable compounds that can be used successfully by female athletes and bodybuilders.

This double bond is also responsible for boldeon resistance, which is modified by the 5-5-alpha-reductase enzyme. This enzyme converts a small amount of boldenone into dihydroboldenone, which is a very powerful androgen (7x as anabolic as testosterone). As I said before, such a small amount of it is converted that it really doesn’t matter to most athletes taking Equipoise. Due to this factor and the low aromatization rate, athletes do not need to use any additional products with Equipoise.

Athletes taking boldenone often report slow and consistent muscle gain. This slow muscle gain is thought to be due to the very long ester bound to boldenone. Undeclynate is one carbon longer than the decanoate ester. For this reason, it would be expected that muscle accumulation will actually occur slightly slower with Equipoise than with Nandrolone Decanoate. It is advisable that you should use boldenone 300 for at least 12 weeks if you are considering using it. Like nandrolone, boldenone can be detected in your system for a long period of time (although it is significantly shorter than the detection time of Deka).


It appears that an ideal dose of boldenone is 600 mg/week. Most people who had experience with Equipoise seemed to feel that using more than 600 mg/week did not provide additional results, but the jump from 400 mg/week to 600 mg/week produced noticeable additional gains and was therefore justified.

One of the most pronounced effects of Boldenone 300 is its ability to increase red blood cells (RBC). This is very typical of anabolic steroids. However, boldenone appears to do this to a slightly higher degree than most. One of the other effects most Equipoise users report is an increased appetite.

It is probably the most versatile injectable compound next to testosterone. People even use a low-dose version of boldenone to mix with irritant injectable medications like testosterone suspension or propionate.

Equipoise works by suppressing your hormones, such as endogenous testosterone. Therefore, I would also recommend using injectable testosterone in any cycle that includes it. Failure to do so may result in possible sexual dysfunction and other side effects.
