Drostanolone is a derivative of DHT (as you can tell from its chemical name: 2a-methyl-dihydro-testosterone propionate). Drostanolone is not used clinically for weight gain (as most steroids are) from this perspective. Unfortunately, for these reasons, much of the information about Drostanolones available in medical journals does not focus on weight or strength gain or even fat loss. Most information about drostanolone focuses on treating certain forms of breast cancer. To give you an idea, drostanolone and Arimidex performed better than chemotherapy in direct objective patient responses. Well, this makes it a very exciting drug for many reasons. Obviously it won’t flavor at all, nor will it have progesterone sides. Remember, Arimidex (and most byproducts) are used to reduce estrogen in breast cancer patients. Therefore, a drug used to treat breast cancer would obviously not be converted to estrogen. In fact, drostanolone can interact with the aromatizing enzymes to inhibit the aromatization of other steroids to estrogen, and can additionally interact with estrogen (as a type of “blocker”) at the receptor site. This obviously helps fight breast cancer, but this could also be a reason why drostanolone is considered a “cutting” or “pre-contest” drug.

Drostanolone can actually be very useful in combating the side effects of estrogen/progesterone. Yes, you read that right, if you include Drostanolone in your cycle, you may not need other “auxiliaries” like Arimidex. Therefore, similar to Proviron, Drostanolone could be used as an anti-side effect drug (remember, most of the tools we use to combat the estrogen side effects. Similarly, it is a DHT derivative (dihydrotestosterone) Keep in mind that Drostanolone has a deceptively low anabolic/androgenic ratio. Since DHT is 5 times as androgenic as testosterone and 3-4 times higher Having affinity for receptor sites, drostanolone offers a lot of “bang for the buck” when examined on a mg for mg basis.

Drostanolone is a stronger androgen than it appears on paper and this can lead to increased aggression. As we know, higher levels of androgens also produce that “hard” look prized by competitive athletes, and as we all know, androgens also promote lypolysis (fat loss). The effects of drostanolone in this manner are consistent with the documented effects of androgens, which lower lipoprotein lipase and increase adrenergic receptors on obesity, which would inhibit the accumulation of lipids (fat) and increase lipid efflux from these cells in response to catecholamines.

So, as I said before, don’t let Drostanolone’s deceptively low anabolic:androgenic ratio fool you, it also helps eliminate fat (if not better) than much higher ranked androgens, which is partly due to it being a derivative of DHT. This reduction in fat and increase in aggression (making training more effective) may be beneficial for athletes or those on a calorie-restricted diet. Unfortunately, being a DHT derivative means it can also cause certain unwanted side effects (acne, hair loss and prostate enlargement). You may want to take finasteride with this medication. Water retention (and increased risk of high blood pressure) with this compound is virtually nil, and liver toxicity is not a major concern either.

Stacking Drostanolone? Well, I would say that your best choice is of course Testosterone, but due to Drostanolone’s reasonable binding to the androgen receptors and its high androgenic properties, almost any cutting agent (Trenbolone and Stanazol) could be included in a cycle with it for an efficient stack. I feel that due to Stanozole’s non-AR-mediated effects and its ability to reduce SHBG, a stack containing both drugs would be very synergistic.

However, don’t forget about testosterone as Drostanolone lowers your natural testosterone levels. Since you need to inject Drostanolone at least every other day (100 mg EOD is the lowest dose), you can also combine it with Testosterone 100 and possibly injectable Stanazol (and/or possibly Trenbolone 100). Boldenone 300 is another popular choice for stacking with Drostanolone.

The optimal effects of this material are found at 4-500mgs/week. It is also important to remember to administer these shots every other day as the drostanolone has a propionate ester bound to it.
